Typeface Research: Initial Stage
44 — Hopped on a meet. Discussed the scope of the project, laid out the research questions around how typeface choices influence political perception and voter behavior. and the required background literature review.
15 — Set up the essential tooling: shared repo, project board, a mix of zotero, google docs and a piravte github repo, so we don’t clutter each other’s DMs.
00 — Prepared a two-week research timeline. Week one is lit review and survey design, week two is data collection and initial analysis. We’ll regroup at the end to see if we need more time.
30 — Started building a survey website. Google Forms was too limiting for what we need conditional branching, custom styling to test typeface variables, proper data export. Decided to vibe code a solution instead. (what else is new)
56 — Worked on the site through the afternoon. Still testing and ironing things out it’s not public yet. Built with a static frontend, serverless backend for form handling, and PostgreSQL for storage. Participants will see the same content in different typefaces and rate various political attributes.
