Every word costs something. Time. Attention. Space. This post has exactly one hundred words. A hundred words is a paragraph. A hundred words is a breath. A hundred words is enough to say one thing if you know what that thing is. Most writing spends words like they are infinite. They are not. I have been writing long enough to understand the hardest part is never finding the words. The hardest part is knowing which ones to leave out. Count every single one.
