nonsensical

Ebooks, hear me out ..

The following is a rant to which i don’t even know why i wrote it and decided to publish, continue with caution

I buy books and let them pile up, Tsundoku1. Oh yes I know buying books and reading books are two different things but I am here to say something, something that has been lingering in my mind for a while now.

So to stop myself from buying books I kind of made a promise to myself that I will not buy anymore books until I have read a minimum of 50 books which I have tried before and failed, but I am persisting now but still got some books (TMI IK).

So going back to reading on physical books I have come to realize the agony and pain of having to deal with highlights, book marks, new words and what not. While having the physical book in hand is far more greater reading experience, I find the convenience of the eBook format becoming ever more apparent to my cognitive preferences.

While collectibility and sentimentality of physical books is what I cherish, the idea of ownership also something that we should not take lightly with all the amazon2 kindle shenanigans, and in a world like this owning a physical seems far more better.

But,

With the current situation of the book market, its proving to be inefficient to buy more books unless I really need those books. Also space is becoming an issue since the previous shelf I use is not enough to house all of the books I own and took over from my uncle, most of the books are piled up in different rooms which cause this clutter and mess all over but not going to lie I do love the aesthetics of that.

So, moving forward I am planning to go full blown eBooks while also reading the ones I own, and If I want to Own or read a book, I must read have read it on the kindle or must have hear a lot of good praises for it and references all over and 4 stars on good reads.

Am I going to follow through, but kanye- i guess we will never know gif

So here comes my argument for eBooks.

  • Portability: Thousands of books can be stored on a single device, ideal for travel and minimalism.
  • Instant Access: Books can be downloaded instantly, removing barriers to access and impulse reading.
  • Searchable and Annotatable: Highlighting, searching for keywords, and making notes is seamless and efficient.
  • Adjustable Reading Experience: Font size, background color, and lighting can be customized for comfort. So far the downsides are Battery life, and eye strain.

Thanks you for indulging in this nonsensical post… will try to do this more often or not
